A Future for Our Family and Yours

Sarah

Family Network on Disabilities of Florida is proud to announce the kick-off of our development campaign to ensure programs and services for future generations! The Secretary of our Board of Directors, Sarah Lopez of Orlando, has graciously agreed to take a leave of absence from her board involvement and responsibilities to act as Director of Development for this effort. Below you will find priorities and initiatives that we plan to address with your generous contributions.

Sarah is the mother of three children, two of whom receive special education services. Her oldest daughter, Eleana, is Sarah's personal motivation for working to create a better world for all persons with disabilities. Sarah first began working with FND as an Area Training Coordinator for our Parent Education Network eight years ago, and after taking a break to give attention to local issues in the disability community, she returned to join our Board of Directors in 2005. She says, "I am so honored to serve FND in this new role. They were the first organization that helped me when I learned that my baby had disabilities. I will proudly do whatever is required to see the organization continue to grow and provide much needed services to families."

Where Will My Donation Go?

Development initiatives and priorities have been clearly defined for FND by the Board of Directors. Their thoughtful vision for the future of our family driven organization has been carefully developed and is continually monitored and adjusted to meet the needs of the disability community. Grant seeking, fund raising, and corporate sponsorship will be pursued to endow the full range of programs and activities provided by FND, including the following priorities:

* 1) Matching funds to boost our currently government funded programs.
* 2) Parent to Parent support services
* 3) Adult services focusing on the individual and family after the school aged years
* 4) Building fund
* 5) Developing scholarship and other financial support programs
* 6) Community partnerships

These are only a few of our plans for the future. We ask for your financial support in bringing these priorities from goals to viable, active programs and services. Not one of us can achieve this alone, but together we can create this and so much more! Be a part of the future of disability services in Florida by supporting FND. Please remember, your donation is tax deductible.
