Each summer Shriners Hospital in Tampa hosts a "Transition Camp" for adolescents with disabilities. Our goal is to provide information that will help teens go on to lead independent lives. Teens who would like to attend should be independent in self-care, a junior or senior in high school with plans to continue their education or job training. During the four-day camp, teens will stay in the parent center and meals are provided. Guest speakers will share information on transition topics, including transportation, self-advocacy and job opportunities. Teens also enjoy movies, games and eating out at local restaurants.
