Family Network on Disabilities, Inc. is proud to announce SHARING THE COMMITMENT POLK COUNTY.

Sharing the Commitment is a collaborative project that has been created to foster effective partnerships between parents, schools, and the community. Along with the Polk County Exceptional Student Education Department, Family Network on Disabilities (FND) provides information, training and support to educators, parents, and agencies on services and programs for students with disabilities. Sharing the Commitment sponsors workshops for all persons interested in services for students with disabilities. Specially trained parents and teachers called Parent Educator Exceptional Resources (PEERs) will be available to provide parents of students with disabilities with up-to-date information, resources and support.

Family Network is currently accepting resumes to fill 2 PEER positions.  These positions are five hours a week and provide information, resources, and workshops to parents and professionals within Polk County.  If you are a parent of a child with a disability in the Polk County school system, have a firm understanding of IDEA, like to help others navigate the system, have a proven track record of collaboration with the school system, are English/Spanish bilingual, and are interested in joining the FND family, please send your resume to Tara Bremer at the contact information below.

Would you like to donate to Family Network on Disabilities, but do not have the extra time or money?
What if you could donate to FND without spending any extra time or money?   NOW YOU CAN!!!!!

What if Family Network on Disabilities earned a penny every time you searched the Internet? Or how about if a percentage of every purchase you made online for your holiday shopping went to support our cause?  Well, now it can!  GoodSearch.com is a new Yahoo-powered search engine that donates about a penny per search to FND. Use it just as you would any search engine, get quality search results from Yahoo, and watch the donations add up!  GoodShop.com is a new online shopping mall which donates up to 37 percent of each purchase to FND! Hundreds of great stores including Amazon, Target, Gap, Best Buy, ebay, Macy's and Barnes & Noble have teamed up with GoodShop and every time you place an order, you'll be supporting FND.  Just click here, start your search, start shopping, and spread the word!!!  Don't forget to save FND/GoodSearch as your homepage or on your toolbar for all of your internet searches! This way every time you start your web browser GoodSearch will automatically load and be the first site you see. Plus, no matter where you are on the web, you can always click your browser's home button and return to GoodSearch instantly. Microsoft Internet Explorer users:
